The most exciting aspect of Coaching is being part of a transformation process. Watching and providing a helping hand for someone's growth and change is what makes it all so rewarding and uplifting. Their success is my success. When I do my job and they are coachable, it's a win-win. It's what I like to call the "train reaction". Because chain may be too restrictive of a word, and trains are actually going somewhere.
With my clients' consent, of course, I share some of their words and stories, for two honest reasons:
To help others that may be in a similar situation. When their words resonate with someone else's journey, sharing becomes a service in itself.
To promote my work, of course. I am running a business here, and the best way to reach potential clients is still word of mouth, whether by referral or testimonials.
"I had never worked with a life coach before, but after leaving teaching due to the pandemic, I felt truly lost. I’m close to 60, my immune system would definitely lose if it went toe to toe with the virus, and for the last 20 years I’ve been in the classroom. In our first session, Luisa very pragmatically asked me what I could see myself doing, what would make me happy. I kept coming back to working with kids...but not 32 at a time. At the end of our first session, I still felt a bit lost. But... Luisa has a way of planting a seed - or helping you to plant it - and that seed rattles around while you contemplate whatever obstacle you’re facing, and - if you’re like me - you realize the seed is all you need; you have the space, and the topsoil, and the water already, but now that you have that seed you can grow something great. For me the seed was the idea that I could *still* teach without entering another classroom; I could tutor. And while I’d never considered being self-employed before, a few days later I had my website up and I’d signed up with multiple tutoring platforms. I’m eager to continue the conversation with Luisa and exchange ideas; I know she’ll plant another seed...and this one will help turn my three students into thirty. Thank you, Luisa!"
